An upcoming course offered by the Office of Lay Ministry Formation of the Diocese of Youngstown will cover the basics of prison ministry for those who are interested in learning about this important ministry of the Church.  This course will meet on six consecutive Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00PM beginning on March 2nd at Christ the Servant in Canton.  Participants will learn how to get started from a theological, logistical, and practical ministry perspective all in the context of prayer, fellowship, and networking with others interested in prison ministry in Stark and Portage County.  The course will also discuss other opportunities, such as ministry to the families of those incarcerated and re-entry ministry.  This program is co-sponsored by Catholic Charities Criminal Justice and Prison Ministries.  For more information, contact Pete Schafer, Director of the Office of Evangelization and Pastoral Planning, (330) 744-8451 ext. 289 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
