Bishop George V. Murry, SJ, has named the Rev. James Korda as President of CTNY, the Catholic Television Network of Youngstown, effective immediately. The title reflects the model of Catholic Telecommunication Directors and their effective job descriptions around the country.  Fr. Korda has been the Pastoral of Director of CTNY for 18 years and will continue to oversee all content creation, programming, brand development and marketing of CTNY and ETC-Ecumenical Television Channel. CTNY began in the 1980's to respond to the growing need to share the Good News of the Gospel through modern telecommunications technology.

In 1987, the Ecumenical Television Channel became a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week network to further expand the sharing of God's love through the auspices of the Protestant, Jewish, Orthodox and Catholic communities.   CTNY, based at the Society of St. Paul monastery in Canfield, Ohio, serves as the channel's production and network facility. Further responsibilities of Fr. Korda as President of CTNY include:  advancing the mission of CTNY, generating resources for the facility, and drive the overall growth and value creation of CTNY. Currently, ETC-TV is carried on two cable systems and two hospitals in Northeast Ohio with a daily viewership of over 300,000 cable households. Fr. Korda also serves as a member and Administrative Secretary of Presbyteral Council, a member of the Priest Retirement Board and serves also on the Diocesan Pastoral Council.
