The Diocese of Youngstown Office of Religious Education is hosting an information meeting about the Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry Extension Studies Program (LIMFlex) on June 29, 2017, 7:00-8:30 p.m., at St. Michael Parish Family Life Center, Canfield OH.  Participants find out more about course requirements, tuition, spiritual formation, financial assistance, and application for a graduate religious education or pastoral studies degree or for a continuing education certificate from Loyola University New Orleans.  Sponsored by the Diocese of Youngstown, this program of graduate ministry education available locally is for lay, religious, and ordained persons who are engaged in Church ministry or for laity who want to address themselves to their ministry in the world.

Loyola Institute for Ministry (LIM), in cooperation with church related sponsoring agencies across the United States, Scotland, England, Belize, Canada, and Nigeria, responds to the needs of ministry and education personnel who have limited access to Catholic educational resources by offering on-site and on-line programs leading to a master of religious education or a master of pastoral studies degree with focus areas in religious education, Christian spirituality for pastoral ministers, pastoral life and administration, youth ministry, religion and ecology, marketplace ministry, and digital culture and ministry.  LIM offers this same program of study for a noncredit continuing education certificate.

LIMFlex students take six core courses with a learning group on-site in the Diocese of Youngstown and complete on-line two focus courses, three elective courses, and a capstone course.  Each on-site course is led by a Loyola certified facilitator.  Sessions for each course employ a learning design in which on-line class lectures and videos and other required and suggested readings are correlated with the participant’s experience by means of reflective processes.  Each session provides opportunities for prayer, reflection and faith sharing based on the themes and graces of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.

Registration for the information meeting is requested, but not required.  Contact the Diocese of Youngstown Office of Religious Education, 330-744-8451, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
