DESCRIPTION:The Office of Worship has provided the following guidance for the ritual adapted from the Book of Blessings. After the Prayer of Blessing while the image is being either sprinkled or incensed an appropriate antiphon or refrain may be sung. Please consult with your parish musician.\n–\nPrayer of Consecration\nPresider: Together let us pray the Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart\nAll recite together:\nSacred Heart of Jesus,\nwe the members of ____________________parish\nParish Name\nconsecrate ourselves to your most loving Heart.\nWe come before You\nto offer our thanks, sacrifices, and prayers;\nour thoughts, words and deeds.\nCome Lord Jesus into our hearts, homes, and families\nas our King of love.\nHelp us to lead good lives and to remain faithful to You.\nStrengthen us against temptation,\nhelp us to love one another,\nand to spread your kingdom among all people.\nSacred Heart of Jesus,hear our prayer\nand accept our consecration. Amen.\n–\nIn honor of the 350th Jubilee for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Bishop David J. Bonnar released his third Pastoral Letter: “Take Heart! Do Not Lose Heart!
