The Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., and the Office of Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Denny Denison as an Associate Superintendent for Schools in the Diocese of Youngstown, effective July 1, 2020. Dr. Denison comes to the Office of Catholic Schools with 25 years of experience as an educator and innovator in the Diocese of Venice, Florida. His range of experience spans pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
In his career, Dr. Denison has served as a middle school and secondary math teacher. His administrative experience includes secondary Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and Principal. He has served as an elementary assistant principal and principal as well as interim Superintendent.
Under his leadership as principal at Bishop Verot Catholic High School, the school earned certification as an Apple Distinguished School. Dr. Denison has worked with Apple Education as a presenter and serves on the Apple Education Advisory Board for Apple Distinguished Schools.
Dr. Denison has served as an adjunct professor at both Ave Maria University and Barry University in their respective education departments.
Dr. Denison earned both his Doctorate in Education and Masters of Science in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. His undergraduate degree in secondary education was earned at Slippery Rock University.
Ms. Fiala, Superintendent of Schools, states that “Dr. Denison’s vast educational experience will allow him to support our teachers and administrators with challenges both in and out of the classroom. We look forward to the gifts and skills he will add to the leadership of the Office of Catholic Schools.”
