Job Summary:
The Catholic Conference of Ohio, the official representative of the Catholic Church in matters of public policy, is seeking an Associate Director for Communications and Outreach to join a dedicated team working to address issues affecting the Church and the common good.
In collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff, the Associate Director will manage the Conference’s social media, website, and advocacy and outreach strategies designed to increase engagement with and awareness of state-level legislative priorities. These priorities include respect life, education, families, social and economic justice, religious liberty, and care for the environment. The Associate Director must be a model of professional conduct and always represent the Catholic Conference and the Catholic Bishops of Ohio with honesty and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee all the CCO’s communications tools
- Manage the CCO website, social media platforms, and legislative advocacy network
- Public Relations
- Identify and create opportunities to raise awareness of CCO’s work and activities
- Assist the Executive Director in responding to media inquiries
- Distribute press releases and statements to media contacts
- Liasion with other communications staff
- Network with diocesan Communications Directors and other state Catholic Conference communications staff
- Collaborate with CCO staff to develop education and advocacy strategies
- Assist in the coordination of events and perform other duties as assigned
- Willingness to work an occasional night or weekend
- Oversee all the CCO’s communications tools
Qualifications and Skills:
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with solid knowledge and passion for the Catholic Church, including structure and doctrine
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, social media platforms, and website management
- Display a desire for career-long learning and growth in the areas of social media platforms, communications, and media trends
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to work both independently and collaboratively and to interact with individuals and groups
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
