The full time position of Consultant for Faith Formation and Lay Ecclesial Ministry is an excellent opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic minister committed to lifelong faith formation and the vocation of the laity. Primary responsibilities include sharing in the mission and projects of the Office of Faith Formation and Lay Ecclesial Ministry including assessment of resources, providing appropriate opportunities for ongoing faith formation and certification for parish and school personnel, and development of lay ecclesial ministers.
The ideal candidate will possess at least five years in effective administration of a parish catechetical process, working knowledge of key Vatican and USCCB documents guiding the Church’s mission especially Co-Workers In the Vineyard and creativity in designing new initiatives to serve the catechetical and other pastoral needs of diocesan parishes and schools. The applicant selected will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a new and an expansive formation process for Lay Ecclesial Ministry. An M.A. in theology or religious studies is required, as is active parish membership, a commitment to the role of catechesis in every aspect of ministry, and a collaborative ministry style. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication is essential. Background clearances required.
