St. Dominic Church is seeking a part-time Director of Music. We are a bilingual Catholic parish located in Youngstown, Ohio. At present, we have 80 children and 17 adults registered in our catechesis program.
This is a salaried part-time position with performance reviews every two months. The position is under the management of the Pastor.
Responsibilities:
CCD Administration
- Recruit new students and families at the beginning of the academic year, and maintain regular communication with parents.
- Maintain student and catechist records and files.
- Obtain necessary documents for those celebrating sacraments.
- Create, submit, and monitor Religious Education budget according to the parish budget process.
CCD Curriculum
- Select textbook series and additional resources (with input from pastor).
- Set annual schedule and topics using Diocesan Curriculum for Catechesis.
CCD Personnel
- Attend to the ongoing recruitment of catechists and aides.
- Organize two in-house formation workshops for catechists.
CCD Event Planning
- Organize a First Communion Retreat and a Confirmation Retreat.
- Plan celebrations of First Reconciliation, Communion, and Confirmation.
- Design and develop new faith formation opportunities in light of current needs.
OCIA/RICA
- Oversee recruitment, registration, and sacramental records for candidates and catechumens.
- Assist with communications, organization of initiation liturgies, esp. Easter Vigil.
- Commit to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Professional Spanish proficiency, both written and spoken, is strongly preferred.

Salary
The part-time salary will be $15,000 per year.
