The fulltime position of Consultant for Religious Education is an excellent opportunity for a creative, compassionate, and enthusiastic minister committed to the Catholic mission of evangelization and catechesis.  Primary responsibilities include sharing in the mission and projects of the Office of Religious Education, and promoting effective use of media and library resources for catechesis and evangelization.

The Consultant for Religious Education facilitates the assessment and acquisition of print and media resources, manages circulation, and maintains the vast collection of the Office of Religious Education Library.  The consultant is committed to nurturing and mentoring parish ministers, fostering ministry development, facilitating online adult faith formation courses, and advancing the online presence of the office.

The ideal candidate will possess at least five years in effective administration of a parish catechetical process, working knowledge of key Vatican and USCCB documents guiding the Church’s mission of evangelization and catechesis and creativity in designing new initiatives to serve the catechetical and other pastoral needs of diocesan parishes and schools.  Applicants must hold an M.A. in theology or religious studies, hold active parish membership, exemplify commitment to the role of catechesis in every aspect of ministry, display competency in computer applications, including Weebly, and demonstrate an interest in learning new and innovative technologies relative to catechesis, evangelization, and library services.
