Parish History

The Catholic history goes back to 1858, with the first celebration of Holy Mass by Bishop Josue Young on a local apple orchard. Saint Joseph Calasanctius Parish is a welcoming Catholic community in the village of Jefferson. Originally a part of the Diocese of Cleveland, and for a time staffed by the Missionary Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate, the parish has shown remarkable development over time. The parish has been excited about the renovation of the parish hall in 2016 as well as the plans for the future.
