St. Joseph, Randolph, was first a Mission of St. John the Baptist in Canton under the Pastorate of John Martin Henni. Fr. Henni organized St. Joseph as a parish in 1831. The immigrant population from Alsace Lorraine and Hessen Darmstadt began St. Joseph School a year later. In the mid 1830’s St. Joseph Cemetery began with an unmarked burial following the death of an infant. Almost a hundred years later Bishop Joseph Schrembs of the Cleveland Diocese dedicated the Grotto of our Lady of Lourdes in 1927. Today, these four endeavors, Church, School, Grotto, and Cemetery are in a growth phase in the Youngstown Diocese and together they are the center of the Village of St. Joseph, an oasis of peace and tranquility.
