Reverend J. Patrick Manning, Ph.D., Named Administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Warren

The Most Reverend George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown has appointed Reverend J. Patrick Manning, Ph.D., administrator of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Warren, effective immediately. 

Ordained in 1978, Father Manning has served the parishes of St. Joseph Parish, Ashtabula, St. John Parish, Canton, Kent Newman Center, St. Peter Parish, Rootstown, Regina Coeli Parish, Alliance and St. Joseph Parish, Maximo.  He was a faculty member and associate principal at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Louisville and associate principal and catechist at John F. Kennedy High School, Warren. 

In 2004 he was named Institutional Vice Rector/Vice President of the Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus, Ohio, and in 2009 Chair of the Theology Department at Walsh University, Canton.  Fr. Manning received his Ph.D. in Roman Catholic Systematic Theology from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, an M.A. in Religious Education from Boston Collee, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts; an M.A. in Pastoral Theology from the Pontifical Universitas Gregoriana, Rome an S.T.B. in Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas, Rome.  He also holds a B.A. in English Literature from the Athenaeum, Cincinnati.
