The Most Rev. David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown, will participate in this week’s celebrations related to the Cause for possible Beatification and Canonization of Servant of God Rhoda Wise, a Canton woman who died in 1948.

On Thursday, July 7, the anniversary of Rhoda Wise’s death, Bishop Bonnar will preside at a 6pm Mass at Saint Peter Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton. The Mass will include an update on the Cause by Msgr. Cariglio, diocesan episcopal delegate for the Cause. Following the Mass, the new documentary, They Might Be Saints: Rhoda Wise will be shown at the Parish Hall of the Basilica of Saint John (one block west of St. Peter’s on McKinley Avenue), sponsored by the Rhoda Wise House and Grotto. They Might Be Saints is hosted by Michael O’Neill and appears on EWTN.

They Might Be Saints: Rhoda Wise has its global premiere on EWTN on Wednesday, July 6, at 8pm EDT. The July 6 premiere of They Might Be Saints: Rhoda Wise, will air during EWTN Live and will include the documentary and then a discussion by Michael O’Neill and EWTN Live host, Father Mitch Pacwa, S.J. The documentary includes a dramatization of Rhoda Wise’s story, along with interviews with Bishop Bonnar, Msgr. Michael Cariglio, and local faithful. They Might Be Saints: Rhoda Wise will also air on Thursday, July 7 at 10:30am EDT on EWTN.

Rhoda Wise was a Canton woman of heroic virtue and holiness known for her suffering and prayer life. She promoted devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Rosary, and St. Therese of Lisieux (also known as the Little Flower), inspired by the visions she experienced of Jesus and the Little Flower. She was visited by many seeking healing during her lifetime, and the Rhoda Wise House and Grotto is now maintained as a place of pilgrimage and prayer. Learn more at rhodawise.com
