Education Experience: Jackson High School, Bachelors Degree in Theology from Walsh University
Work Experience: Before entering seminary I worked in construction and landscaping
Favorite Saint(s): St. George, he slew a dragon!
Hobbies/Interests: hiking, antique axe restoration, wood working, blues music
Family Background: My father is a retired from the IT department at Diebold in North Canton and my mother was a stay at home mom who is an amazing cook. My younger brother builds bridges.
What led you to consider the priesthood: A priest came to my religion class in 3rd grade and gave a vocation talk and spoke about the things he does in his day to day life and they sounded like things I would enjoy. I’ve always been involved in the church since my youth. After high school I worked in construction for a few years until I was not feeling fulfilled. Soon thereafter I began studying theology at Walsh University and excelled at my studies. Since then everything sort of fell into place and the roads I followed lead me to entering the seminary.
Favorite thing about Seminary Life: The best thing about seminary life is all of the great guys I get to live with every day and discuss deep theological things.
Advice for guys considering Priesthood: I would tell them to give it a try. If they get to the seminary and realize this isn’t the life for them there is no shame in leaving. At least they can say they tried and it wasn’t for them. I would also suggest praying about it and talking to some priests about what their daily life is like.
