Parishes and prayer groups are encouraged to pray for persons facing challenges, as well as for vocations to lay ministry, in meeting and event prayers as well as in the Universal Prayers at weekend Liturgies:
1. That those with physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, and mental disabilities feel welcome and important as members of our parish, we pray to the Lord.
2. That parents and teachers encourage their children to recognize the value in a life given for others through serving in our Church as lay ecclesial ministers, we pray to the Lord.
3. That our parish community can be a comfort to those who are aging and experiencing changing abilities, we pray to the Lord.
