Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Events

Events are June 2-11, concluding with consecration of the U.S. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – On June 11-12, in observance of the nation’s 250th anniversary and the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Recently Bishop David J. Bonnar wrote an article in America Magazine asking Catholics to rediscover their own devotion to the Sacred Heart. In 2025 Bishop Bonnar released his newest pastoral letter “Take Heart, Don’t Lose Heart, Behold the Sacred Heart.”

The Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus provides daily devotions from the Litany of the Sacred Heart. These prayers reflect upon the wisdom of saints and pontiffs and are inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Dilexit Nos (He Loved Us) and Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic exhortation Dilexi Te. Additionally, you can find prayers, resources and 33-day preparation guides on the USCCB Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Page.

Catholics in Ohio are also invited to the statehouse on June 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to contribute to 250 hours of Eucharistic Adoration.
