ENCOUNTER is a day-long event where youth groups from across the Diocese of Youngstown gather together for a communal and inspirational faith experience. The day features dynamic breakout sessions, a keynote speaker, Mass with Most Reverend David J. Bonnar, praise and worship, Adoration, and time with friends. Experiencing Christ’s Love for us as both sacrificial and redemptive, we can tune into our innate desire to run to Jesus with all we are and have and cultivate a personal relationship with Him.

Please note: All teens must be registered through their youth minister, campus minister, or parish group leader; teens cannot register individually.
Please also note that we are capping the event at 150 this year! Don’t wait to buy your tickets!
The registration process is completely online this year! With that, the waiver/medical release forms for both minors and adults will be completed via Google forms. Once these waivers are completed and approved, they will be sent out to you (the Group Leader) to send to your parents and chaperones in the order in which you register. These waivers are due by Monday, January 27, 2025 at 3:00 P.M.

FAQs
Who is allowed to attend?
- ENCOUNTER is a convention for high school youth. All youth must be in 9th-12th grade during the 2024-2025 school year to attend with their adult chaperones.
How much does it cost?
- ENCOUNTER is $40 per person, including group leaders and chaperones. This covers the cost of the convention, as well as dinner.
What is the Chaperone : Student Ratio?
- The required ratio is 1 : 6.
How do I purchase tickets?
- Youth ministers, campus ministers, and parish group leaders can purchase tickets for their group beginning December 13 until January 15th, or until sold out. You can purchase a block of tickets and assign names to them at a later date. Waivers are due January 27th. (Yes, you should have your list of names solidified by the time waivers are filled out!)
I purchased my block of tickets. What next?
- There will be a link to the waiver/medical release form emailed directly to you (the Group Leader) to fill out and easily distribute to your teens and parents for them to fill out by January 27th.
What if my parish and/or Catholic high school isn’t going as a group?
- Please have your parent/guardian contact Maddie and we will work with you to find a group who you can attend with.
