Bookkeeper – St. Catherine of Sienna, Boardman, OH

St. Catherine of Sienna Parish in Boardman, Ohio, is hiring a part time Bookkeeper, up to 20 hours per week, to handle day-to-day financial recordkeeping and to ensure the parish operates smoothly and remains financially accountable, while working collaboratively with fellow bookkeepers and the parish accountant. The key requirements and responsibilities are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee counting of envelope collections and candle money, occasionally on holidays.
  • Tabulate collections, envelopes, and attendance and produce a weekly report for the parish bulletin.
  • Complete check deposits.
  • Secure bank statements from auxiliary groups.
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports.
  • Manage year end tax statements.
  • Collect and tabulate staff hours at St. Luke campus.
  • Manage bingo invoices, supplies, prizes, bank deposits, monthly statements, profit/loss reports, and license applications.
  • Manage candle and wine inventory.
  • Answer phones and conduct office duties as needed.
  • Participate in parish staff meetings and diocesan bookkeeper meetings.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or commensurate experience, or willingness to pursue additional training to meet diocesan standards.
  • BCI/FBI background check
  • Compliance with Diocese of Youngstown Safe Environment policy, including VIRTUS training.
  • Knowledge of Quick books.
