The Most Rev. David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown, has made the following Clergy Assignments, effective as noted:

Priest Assignments:

Very Rev. Michael Balash as Director of Seminarians, effective January 8, 2024, in addition to his current his responsibilities as Vicar for Clergy Clergy and Religious, and Director of the Office of Worship, along with his Sacramental duties at St. Robert Parish, Cortland, St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Vienna and St. William Parish, Champion .

Rev. Scott Kopp, relieved of responsibilities as Director of Seminarians, effective January 8, 2024, with great appreciation for his dedicated service to seminarians and newly ordained priests. Father Kopp will continue as pastor of Christ the Servant Parish, Canton, along with his administrative duties at St. Joan of Arc Parish and St. Joseph Parish, Canton.

Very Reverend John-Michael Lavelle, expanded responsibilities as Vicar for Missionary Discipleship to include oversight of the Department of Communications, effective January 15, 2024, in addition to continuing to oversee missionary discipleship and development efforts, while also continuing as pastor St. Michael Parish, Canfield.

Press Release | Fifteen men and women were commissioned as Lay Leaders of Prayer on November 15, 2023. Leaders of Prayer are lay persons commissioned to lead the faithful in acts of worship which in the past were most often led by the ordained clergy but may also be led by lay people.
