Parishes Celebrating the Feast of the Assumption

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary honors her role as the Queen of Heaven. We celebrate that at the end of her earthly life, she was taken body and soul to be with her Son in heaven, reminding us of our hope in the Resurrection.

Please check your local parish bulletin for details on services for the Feast of the Assumption.

Because the feast is on a Saturday, participation is optional because it is not a Holy Day of Obligation in 2026. Participation in a Mass for the Feast of the Assumption does not count towards the Obligation to attend Mass on Sunday, August 16th.
