Solemn Vespers for clergy, religious, deacons and lay staff
From Bishop David J Bonnar:
“Habemus Papam! We have a Pope! We rejoice in the announcement of American Cardinal Robert Prevost as Pope with the name Pope Leo XIV. May God bless our new pontiff with the graces he needs to be a good shepherd with the heart of Jesus Christ!
In gratitude for this announcement I invite you to join me for a Mass on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 7:00pm in Saint Columba Cathedral. I invite not only our clergy, religious, and faithful but religious leaders and people of all faiths to join us as we celebrate and offer prayers for Pope Leo XIV.
Priests and deacons RSVP to Geri Deane at gdeane@youngstowndiocese.org
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025 I invite all our clergy, religious, deacons and lay staff who work for the Church in any way to Solemn Vespers at 4:00pm in Immaculate Conception Church, Ravenna. I appreciate all that you do every day for the good of the Church. This will be a great way to show our solidarity and prayerfully support our new Pope.
At this moment, we are having prayer cards printed featuring Pope Leo on one side and a prayer on the other.
If you have any questions regarding any liturgical matters around this transition feel free to contact Father John Sheridan at jsheridan@youngstowndiocese. org.”
