The Light is On For You ~ An Evening of Reconciliation
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, parishes throughout the Diocese of Youngstown will offer an “Evening of Reconciliation: The Light is ON for You.” During Lent, Catholics are reminded to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of their Lenten observance in preparation for Easter. As Pope Francis says, “the joy of God is the joy of forgiveness.”
While the Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated throughout the Lenten season and the entire year in local parishes, the Diocese of Youngstown has identified this event as a common date when the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available in parishes throughout the diocese. Every parish should plan to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation that evening either by scheduling a Lenten Communal Reconciliation Service with neighboring/collaborating parishes or individual reconciliation.
Parishes will be celebrating “The Light is ON for You: An Evening of Reconciliation” at a variety of times. Please check your local parish for any updates on final schedules/locations.
