First World Children’s Day (Bulletin Materials)** -NEW

March 25, 2024:

The Office of Youth & Young Adult Accompaniment, in collaboration with the Office of Faith Formation & Lay Ecclesial Ministry, is pleased to bring to your attention the first World Children’s Day instituted by the Vatican, which is being celebrated on May 25-26, 2024! This year’s theme of the event is “I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). World Children’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the children of our parishes, schools, and homes by “underlining the importance of [their] role…as protagonists of the future” (Cardinal Jose Tolentino de Mendonca). Per the Vatican, “World Children’s Day will be celebrated at two levels: universal, with its headquarters in Rome, where it is hoped that national delegations will also converge, and diocesan, leaving the organization to the creativity of the individual local Churches.” It is encouraged that we find creative ways in showing our appreciation for our “protagonists of the future” this weekend in May, and always!
