Free Resources for Blind/Visually Impaired Parishioners

Since 1900, Xavier Society for the Blind (XSB) has been providing free braille, audio, and large print materials to Catholics who are blind/visually impaired. They also serve many people unable to read standard print and others living with recent vision loss due to macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, etc. They offer a lending library of inspirational materials in braille and audio formats.

The XSB is now providing large print Bibles and missalettes (all free-of-charge) to any eligible parishioners, including homebound recipients of seasonal missalettes from the Diocese of Youngstown. If you have parishioners who are eligible for this free service, you can forward applications with relevant details to communications@youngstowndiocese.org for certification, if needed.
