YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Youngstown is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Jennifer Fischer as the Associate Superintendent of Schools. Formerly the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Fischer brings several years of experience in the diocese to her new role. A former public school teacher in both South Carolina and Ohio, Mrs. Fischer also directed online learning programs in the Perry Local School District and in Massillon City Schools. In 2013 she took over as Principal of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Massillon where she served for nine years before moving to the diocesan office. Along with her continued oversight of all state and federal programs that operate in the diocesan schools, she will also take over Student Life as well as Personnel and Compliance issues.
Upon her appointment, Dr. Steven Jones, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese, says “Mrs. Fischer is the ideal person to take over as Associate Superintendent. She’s a dedicated, experienced school leader and a tireless advocate for our students.” Mrs. Fischer will assume her new role on January 2, 2025.
The diocese has already begun the search for a new Director of Continuous Improvement, a new position that will include responsibilities for curriculum development and instruction.
