Let us Pray for Persons With Disabilities including those with mental illness

Attention Bulletin Editors, as well as Parish Liturgical Coordinators and prayer group leaders: please share these petitions for persons facing challenges, especially those with mental health concerns, in upcoming meeting and event prayers, and in the Universal Prayers at weekend Liturgies (or include in your parish bulletin).

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Consider using one or two each week:

1. That families that include members with mental health and other disabilities will find a welcoming home in the Catholic Church, let us pray to the Lord.  R/.

2. For parishes to find the resources they need to reach out to all their members, especially those with mental health concerns,  and their families, let us pray to the Lord. R/.

3.  For our parish family during Mental Health Awareness Month, that we will model the welcoming and inclusive ministry of Jesus, seeking always to see the image of God in every person, let us pray to the Lord.  R/.

4. That growth in understanding of persons with disabilities or mental health concerns will lead to relationships of support and increase a sense of belonging for those who live with disabilities and their families, let us pray to the Lord.  R/.

5. That families and all who live with mental health concerns and other disabilities will find their faith to be a source of strength, community, and hope, let us pray to the Lord.  R/.
