*NEW ANNOUNCEMENT* DIGITAL EXPERIENCE WITH POPE LEO XIV
Pope Leo XVI is going to have his first-ever dialogue with young people in the U.S., and you are personally invited to engage with and promote this digital experience! On Friday, November 21st at 10:15 AM ET, Pope Leo is going to tune in to the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) to have a 45-minute dialogue with the young people gathered in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, including 83 participants from our Diocese!
This event will be livestreamed on EWTN, which means you can tune in even if you are not attending NCYC! Learn more and register for FREE at ncyc.us/digitalexperience.
Everyone who registers for the digital experience will also:
- Receive detailed instructions for accessing the livestream, ensuring you have a front-row seat.
- Be entered to win amazing prizes like free passes to 2026 NCYC in Long Beach, California, and limited-edition NCYC hats.
- Be sent post-event resources to bring the Pope’s message into their home, parish, or classroom!
More than 30 young people from across the nation have already helped shape the themes of this dialogue–exploring questions of faith, vocation, mental health, and the future of the Church–including one of our own teens from our Diocese!
Join us this November as the Church meets young people where they are—online and in person—to share faith, hope, and the promise of a new generation. Register here!
Updated Timeline
We are grateful and excited to be bringing a diocesan delegation of several different parish groups from across our diocese to NCYC, totaling about 80 people! This page contains updates, reminders, and helpful pieces of information for our delegation Group Leaders.
Upcoming Deadlines:
- August 22nd: Deadline to submit final payments
- September 16th: Deadline for your group members (and yourself, as the Group Leader!) to fill out the Adult Permission Form or Youth Permission Form
- September 19th: Deadline to scan and send EACH of your permission forms to the Office of Youth & YA Accompaniment
- October 15th – Deadline to submit the NFCYM/NCYC Legal Agreement. Each adult participant and youth participant’s guardian MUST submit the appropriate NFCYM/NCYC Legal Agreement on or before this date, otherwise they do not get their credentials, which means they cannot participate in NCYC and cannot get a refund. Please have in the back of your mind to have your group complete these by our Group Leaders meeting on October 7th.
Important Forms *NEW*:
- Excused Absence Memo
- Pre-NCYC Handout
- Post-NCYC Handout
- Behavior Guidelines
- Combined YOUTH and ADULT Code of Conducts
- SCHEDULE
- 5 Ways Group Leaders can Maximize Safety & Security at NCYC
Reminders:
- Click HERE to view the NCYC schedule for the weekend and share it with your teens.
- As previously mentioned, Lucas Oil Stadium is not allowing any bags except clear bags in the stadium – which will be provided for each participant, thanks to a generous parish sponsor within the Diocese! However, per NFCYM’s website, “LOS is allowing NCYC Group Leaders only to bring a larger backpack or messenger-style bag. Leaders carrying such bags must enter through a specified gate and connect with their group on the concourse. Group Leaders in this context are the highest-level leaders for the group, not small-group chaperones.”
Checks and Ticket Distribution
- You have time to distribute your tickets to your group members. Please do not feel rushed to distribute your tickets to your group, even though I have already shared them with you. It will be less complicated in the long run if you wait to share tickets with those who are 110% IN – i.e., people you don’t suspect will cancel or who you will need a substitute for. If you need any help with navigating this new ticket distribution system on NFCYM’s portal, please do not hesitate to reach out!
- All checks must be payable to the Diocese of Youngstown (with “NCYC” on the memo line)
- Please email the completed Form A to mfrancisco@youngstowndiocese.org and mail a copy with the deposit. Keep a copy for yourself.
- You can also consider driving to the diocesan offices to drop your forms off at the front desk M-F 8am-4pm
