The Dicastery for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments has confirmed the revised translation of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and the Ritual de la Iniciacion Cristiana de Adultos. The decrees of confirmation were issued on Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and were received by the USCCB shortly thereafter. The Secretariat of Divine Worship of the USCCB has been reviewing the text for publication. Archbishop Timothy Broglio, President of the USCCB issued a Decree of Promulgation on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024.
The new OCIA texts will be released for sale by publishers on November 1, 2024 – The Feast of All Saints.
The new text may be used in liturgy beginning on December 1, 2024 – The First Sunday of Advent with mandatory use beginning on March 5, 2025 – Ash Wednesday.
