Newman Connection Partnership

Learn More about our Partnership with Newman Connection’s High School Outreach Program

Newman Connection is a national non-profit organization that bridges the gap between high school graduation and faith life beyond high school. Newman Connection directly links graduating students to Catholic campus ministries at their chosen colleges or military branches — whether they attend Catholic institutions or not.

Why is it Important for Students to Connect with a Faith-Based Community Post-High School?

  • 80% of Catholic students drift away from their faith during their college years.
  • Without a personal invitation, students are more likely to stop practicing their faith.
  • The first few weeks of college often shape your student’s social and spiritual life trajectory – they need a faith-based community.

How has Newman Connection proven to be successful?

  • Since 2009, Newman Connection has successfully connected over 600,000 students through partnerships with:
    • 115+ Dioceses

    • 2,000+ Parishes

    • 750+ High Schools

    • 800+ college campuses

Participating is straightforward and free. Newman Connection provides all the tools and support needed to implement this program in your school. Your staff’s only role is sharing graduating seniors’ contact information and college destinations, enabling campus ministry teams to welcome them from day one. You can learn more about High School Outreach here or sign up a student directly here.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss this program with you and answer any questions. Please email me at mfrancisco@youngstowndiocese.org to learn more about joining this vital initiative. Together, we can help ensure our graduates maintain their Catholic faith through their college years and beyond.
