Parish History

Saint William Parish is located in the northwest corner of Trumbull County in Champion Township. Established as a mission parish in 1961, Bishop Emmet Walsh dedicated the parish in 1963 to Saint William of Vercelli, its patron saint. Services were held in the Champion Central School gymnasium until 1963 when land was purchased and the original church building and classrooms were constructed. In 1981 a building fund was held to expand the church building to include a new worship space that remains in use today. In 2017 the parish constructed new administrative office addition and expanded the parish kitchen. The parish currently serves 550 families.
