St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, in the Cleveland Diocese, is seeking a Sports Performance Assistant. The Sports Performance Assistant shall have responsibility of collaborating with the Director of Sports Performance in the design and implementation of strength training and conditioning programs in‐season, off‐season, and pre‐season for all school‐sanctioned male and female athletic programs. The Sports Performance Assistant is responsible for independently executing assigned training sessions and station responsibilities as written, and for scheduling, attending, and supervising after-school weight training programs under the direction of the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology or related field.
- A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency Such as the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification.
- Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications.
- A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of strength training.
- Experience in strength and conditioning programming for high school populations.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong motivational skills.
- Ability to interact positively with student athletes, colleagues, and the public.
- Knowledge of NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards and Guidelines.
- Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading and managing group strength and conditioning sessions.
- Ability to maintain command presence and manage athlete behavior in a group training environment.
