New Ritual Book – Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery Outside of Mass

A new ritual book, Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery Outside of Mass has been approved for use no later than December 1, 2024. This replaces the older ritual book for Adoration, Exposition, Eucharistic processions, and Distribution of Holy Communion outside Mass. After a standard editorial review process by the Secretariat of Divine Worship from the USCCB, a decree of promulgation was issued on January 25, 2024. Ritual editions will be available beginning August 1, 2024, from Catholic Book Publishing, Liturgical Press (pre-order available), Liturgy Training Publications, Magnificat and Midwest Theological Forum. Optional use of the new text will be permitted as of September 14, 2024, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with obligatory use on December 1, 2024, the First Sunday of Advent.
