Introducing: Christmas in July
At Catholic Charities, Diocese of Youngstown, we are streamlining the way we work together to serve our community. Starting in 2026, we are introducing Christmas in July—a new, unified parish collection designed to simplify giving and maximize impact.
What is Christmas in July?
This initiative replaces our former Warm Hearts for Warm Homes (January) and First Step for Change (May–June) campaigns. By combining these into one mid-year collection, we are making it easier for parishes to manage and clearer for parishioners to support.
Why the Change?

Greater Impact: Collecting funds in the summer ensures that winter assistance for families and older adults is ready for disbursement exactly when the cold weather hits.

Simplicity: We’ve reduced the number of annual campaigns to decrease the administrative workload for parish staff and volunteers.

Efficiency: Streamlining our efforts lowers printing and mailing costs, ensuring more of your donation goes directly to those in need.
