As interest in genealogical research grows, parishes may be experiencing increased requests for sacramental records. Because confidential information may be contained in them, sacramental registers are not open for public viewing. The person seeking information may be trying to be helpful, but the parish cannot allow the books to be examined. The Archives Office is pleased to search for sacramental records of closed parishes and is happy to assist parishes as needed with genealogical searches.
