I hope all is going well in your parishes. First, as we commemorate the 12th Anniversary of the election of Pope Francis, we continue to offer prayers of healing and thoughts of appreciation for his ministry as Supreme Pontiff.
Second, thank you for all you are doing to make the 2025 Annual Diocesan Appeal: One in Hope, One in Mission such a success in your parishes. I am including the first official report for the 2025 Appeal, and in doing so, and very excited to announce that we have more than $1,000,000 already pledged to the Appeal. The report has a slightly different look as we have switched to a new database – Virtuous. One of the features we are working on is the possibility of a daily report being automatically generated and emailed to everyone. This would allow for you to include numbers in bulletins and in announcements, regardless of particular publishing deadlines. Until that time, Beginning next week, I will be sending the report on Tuesday mornings, rather than Thursdays, to try and accommodate as many of these deadlines as possible.
Please continue to use the bulletin blurbs that are on our Social Media site and offer verbal reminders at each Mass. We strongly encourage reminders on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday – given the large crowds. The next mailing is presently scheduled for the first week of May and is the letter which is signed with each pastor’s signature. As that letter is developed, a copy will be sent to pastors first to obtain any feedback. The signatures were gathered at the kick-off or in followup efforts, so that part has been taken care of.
