The Diocese of Youngstown is pleased to announce The Catholic Echo Podcast, the latest development in the diocese’s integrated media offerings. The Catholic Echo Podcast joins
The Catholic Echo print magazine and the diocese’s online multimedia hub at catholicecho.org, both of which launched earlier this year. The Catholic Echo podcast launches on November 5, 2023, and will be available on major podcasting platforms and on The Catholic Echo website at www.catholicecho.org/podcast/. It will also be available on Youngstown radio stations WHOT-FM 101, WYFM-FM 102.9, WQXK-FM 105.1, Sundays at 6:30 a.m., beginning November 5.

Airing weekly, each episode of The Catholic Echo Podcast features a specific topic relevant to the Church today. Bishop David Bonnar begins the podcast with host Father Jim Korda on the topic of the week and various guests continue to offer insights on the topic. The Catholic Echo Podcast features cross-over content with The Catholic Echo print magazine and online-exclusive articles, promising in-depth and extended conversation. In November, episodes will include youth and young adult ministry (also featured in the November issue of The Catholic Echo magazine), as well as vocations, missionary discipleship, and the important work of Catholic Charities.

The Catholic Echo Podcast joins the Diocese of Youngstown’s long-running radio program, Wineskins, which will precede The Catholic Echo Podcast on the aforementioned radio stations at 6:00 a.m. Wineskins also continues to be available at various times on WKBN-AM 570 and WILB-FM 89.5 (Youngstown), WILB-AM 1060 and WILB-FM 94.5 (Canton) and WRQX-AM 600 (Salem), as well as on podcast platforms. Justin Huyck, director of communications for the Diocese of Youngstown, celebrated the launch of The Catholic Echo Podcast, saying, “With The Catholic Echo, our goal is to reach all audiences and all ages: in print and online, with podcasting and on radio. I am grateful to Bishop Bonnar for his vision. I am also grateful for the collaboration of my colleagues, especially the pioneering wisdom of Father Jim Korda, who continues to walk with us in these new ventures, and for the innovative spirit of Katie Wagner, our Editor-in-Chief of The Catholic Echo.”
