ARISE
What are the Goals of ARISE?
Composed by Members of the 2025 Youth and Young Adult Ministry Advisory Council and Chaplains: Fr. Ryan Furlong, Cara Lipinski, Bernadette (Sartor) Mashonga, Natalie Wardle, and Fr. Matthew Zwilling
- Provide a sense of solidarity and authentic community with other young adults and ministry leaders who have a relationship with Christ and are seeking to go deeper
- Evangelize young adults, including those who are on the peripheries of the faith
- Accompany young adults in discerning their vocation and assist them in recognizing their vocation as a gift for the world
- Form, encourage, and equip young adults to live out the universal call to holiness in all their relationships; challenging them to live a life “set apart”, and to carry the joy of the Gospel beyond the event
“FULLY KNOWN”
Saturday, July 26th | 9AM-8PM
ARISE, the Diocese of Youngstown’s 3rd annual young adult summer festival, took place on July 26, 2025, with over 70 young adults from across the six counties within our diocese, and beyond! This year’s theme, FULLY KNOWN, is inspired by 1 Corinthians 13:12: “At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.”
ARISE is a dynamic, day-long fathering designed to deepen faith, cultivate authentic community, and celebrate the Eucharist with young adults ages 18-39 from across the Diocese of Youngstown and beyond! The day includes inspiring speakers (including nationally known Catholic speaker, Bobby Angel, as the keynote!), discussion, reflection, vibrant worship, live music, great food (like Chipotle!), meaningful fellowship through outdoor games and activities (Bonfire with s’mores, anyone?), Adoration, and Mass with Bishop Bonnar.
