Bishop Bonnar Calls for a New Class of Permanent Deacons (Bulletin Materials)

A vocation to the permanent diaconate is a divine calling to serve the Church as an ordained minister after the pattern of Christ the Servant. The Office of the Permanent Diaconate of the Diocese of Youngstown is now accepting inquiries from men, whether married or single, ages 30 to 60, who perceive the Holy Spirit’s call to serve the Church in the ministries of the liturgy, the Word, and charity. For additional information, visit the website of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate at https://doy.org/deacons/. Those interested in applying for entry into the formation program, which will begin in August 2026, should contact Deacon Bill Bancroft, the Director of the Office of the Permanent Diaconate, at wbancroft@youngstowndiocese.org.
