YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Most Reverend David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown, will preside at the Annual Red Mass on Thursday, October 23, at 12:10 P.M. at Saint Columba Cathedral. A luncheon and program will follow at Saint Columba Hall. The annual event is for all men and women involved in legal and judicial professions in the six counties of the Diocese of Youngstown and is sponsored by the Thomas More Society.

Commenting on more than a quarter century of the Red Mass in the Diocese of Youngstown, Monsignor Robert J. Siffrin, Vicar for External Affairs/Special Projects & Director of the Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs says, “This event allows us to gather all who are involved in judicial and legal professions, and to highlight how essential their vocations are for the common good. Over the years, our gathering has allowed us to engage in ethical and moral reflection, through a Catholic Christian lens.”

You can learn more about the history of the Red Mass from the Catholic Bar Association.

There is a cost for the luncheon and registration is required. Please make checks payable to the Diocese of Youngstown and note if you have special dietary needs. For additional information and to RSVP, please contact Karen Thomas at (330) 744-8451, ext. 278.
