Director of Advancement
Position Summary:
• Develops and executes a comprehensive Advancement Plan for the fiscal year including
management, special events, annual fund, major gifts, capital campaign, and planned giving.
o Proposes and develops strategies for solicitation of major gifts, capital projects, and gifts to
the endowment. Establishes, along with the President, ongoing relationships with
prospect/donor; recommending specific purpose and level of gift; identifying those to be
involved in cultivation and subsequent solicitation.
o Develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive multi-year annual giving program that
includes identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of constituents with
objectives, timelines, and plan for evaluation, include the State of Ohio SGO tax credit
program.
o Researches and evaluates prospects for corporate and foundation grants. Conducts a full
range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation,
government, and corporate sources.
o Oversees and coordinates all advertising opportunities (spaces within the school and
grounds as well as in all print and digital media put out by the school).
o Coordinates with the Director of Communication the development, organization, direction,
and analysis of direct mail campaigns with specific marketing themes and timelines so as to
effectively solicit gifts from alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and friends
o Works with the Director of Alumni Relations to develop and execute alumni events
including class reunions, stewardship opportunities, and outreach events.
• Works collaboratively with staff, parents, alumni, and other volunteers on school advancement
efforts.
• Oversees management of gift processing and donor acknowledgement. Manages accompanying
information systems, donor database, financial reporting, and ensuring the confidentiality of all data.
• Creates a core group of monthly reports to assess the current status of the advancement program
and to effectively measure progress made against previous years’ giving and current year goals to be
shared with the President and the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors.
• Works closely with the Enrollment Management, Finance, and Communications/Marketing Offices
at the school as well as external partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the President
Qualifications:
• Education. Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a
related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or constituent
relations.
• Skills:
o Strong leadership and management skills
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).
o Ability to write compelling grant proposals
o Event planning and project management experience.
o Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends.

Requirements
• Sit for extended periods of time.
• Move throughout the day, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and
climbing stairs.
• Lift material weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Routinely operates standard office equipment.
• Occasional evenings and weekends will be required.
Reports to the President and is a member of the Senior Administrative Team of the school.
