DOY Announces Retirements of Rev. Raymond Thomas & Rev. Philip Rogers

The retirement of Father Thomas was effective May 1, Father Rogers on July 1

The Diocese of Youngstown is announcing the retirement of two priests, Reverend Raymond Thomas and Reverend Philip Rogers.

Father Thomas served the diocese for 52 years. He was most recently the pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Ashtabula, Corpus Christi Parish in Conneaut, Saint Andrew Bobola Parish in Sheffield, and pastoral care at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Geneva. Father Thomas was also Dean of Ashtabula Deanery. His retirement was effective May 1.

Father Philip Rogers served the Diocese of Youngstown for 44 years. He was most recently the pastor of Christ the Savior Parish in Struthers as well as the Dean of Mahoning South Deanery. Father Rogers previously served as pastor of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Boardman from 2007-2022. His retirement is effective July 1.

The Diocese of Youngstown recently ordained Rev. Kevin Bertleff, to administrator of the newly merged Saint John Neumann Parish. And Rev. William Wainio, parochial vicar at Saint Patrick Parish and University Parish Newman Center in Kent.
