November 1st, 2026 with the Concert at 3:45pm and Mass at 5pm

All parish music directors, musicians, and anyone involved in liturgical music at your parish are cordially invited to come to the Third Annual Gold Mass. Before the Mass begins, there will be a concert consisting of instrumental soloists, small vocal and instrumental ensembles, and more beginning at 3:45pm. If you would like your choir to sing or or you’d or a music minister would like to play a piece, please let me know! A nice dinner will follow the Mass for the musicians. Please save the date and RSVP the amount of people coming from your music program so we have space for the reception. The more the merrier! Please RSVP by October 15th.

Background:

The Diocese of Youngstown has an annual tradition of honoring those in music ministry at the Gold Mass. The celebration is typically held on a weekend near the Feast Day of St. Cecilia, patron of musicians (November 22nd). It begins with a concert featuring organ and choirs from across the diocese before Mass at the Cathedral of St Columba. This event is not to be missed! Look for details in the Fall. Please let Ralph Holtzhauser know if you and your choirs would like to participate and/or attend.
