St. Dominic Church is seeking a part-time Director of Music. We are a bilingual Catholic parish located in Youngstown, Ohio. At present, we have 800 registered families and four Sunday Masses.
The parish has a Hispanic choir with its own director who is paid per diem. However, bilingual liturgies such as Holy Thursday and the Easter Vigil are coordinated by the Director of Music.

Requirements for this position:
- Active, practicing Catholic
- Organ proficiency
- Choral directing skills
- Appreciation for and competency in Latin choral chant
- Leadership experience in a liturgical setting
- Ability to coordinate music and liturgy for Holy Week and other solemn celebrations in collaboration with the pastor, other clergy, staff, lay ministers and volunteers.
- Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:
- Plan music ordos for Sunday liturgies
- Coordinate cantors for the 5:00 PM and 10:30 AM Sunday liturgies and find subs for cantors and organists as needed.
- Direct and build up a choir for the 10:30 AM Mass
- Coordinate approximately 35 funeral liturgies and 10 wedding liturgies per year (number subject to change based on need).
- Collaborate with parish instrumentalists (e.g., harp, violin, trumpet, ) to provide music for Masses.
- Maintain a music library with appropriate selections for various liturgical occasions

Salary
The part-time salary will range between $25K–$30K, according to the candidate’s qualifications.
