Position Summary:
The part-time Programming and Marketing Coordinator supports the mission of the Diocese of Youngstown by assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives within both the Office of Youth & Young Adult Accompaniment and the Office of Church Vocations, unless otherwise specified.
This position focuses on creative promotion, administrative operations, communications, and event logistics that foster meaningful opportunities for young people to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in community, and discern their vocation within the life of the Church. The role serves as a key support for diocesan-wide efforts including youth ministry programming, young adult engagement, campus ministry outreach, and vocation awareness initiatives.
The Coordinator ensures the smooth execution and promotion of events that invite youth and young adults into deeper discipleship and intentional discernment of God’s call.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, communications, graphic design, business administration, or related field
- Proficiency in: Canva, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Creativity in marketing and outreach
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with clear instructions provided by the Directors
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, with a strong understanding of Church teaching, who is committed to evangelization and forming young disciples within the Church
Preferred
- Experience in parish, diocesan, campus ministry, and/or vocations work
- Skilled in event planning, program management, and/or registration systems
- Experience and giftedness in photography and/or videography and video editing
- Understanding of Catholic youth, young adult, and vocation culture, and a willingness to continue to learn and keep up with new statistics, as culture is ever-changing
- Experience working with volunteers and coordinating teams
- Basic budgeting or financial tracking experience
