President of Ursuline High School

Youngstown, Ohio

 

Ursuline is a Catholic college-preparatory school known for its diverse backgrounds in the spirit of St. Angela Merici and the Ursuline Sisters.  Founded in 1905 as an all-girls school and becoming co-educational in 1930, the school has served generations of students in Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.  The School educates approximately 490 students in grades nine through twelve.  Six parish schools serve the elementary-aged students that potentially feed into Ursuline. Ursuline strives to form a family of Faith, achievement, and promise for its students through its motto: Soli Deo Gloria – Glory to God Alone.

 Staff members collaborate in the ministry of Catholic education to provide a strong faith-based program. The school operates in a President-Principal model with the President serving as the external face of the school, directing all fund-raising, friend-raising, and community outreach. 

 

Job Summary: The President is responsible for carrying out the mission of the school and works with the Board of Directors, administration, faculty and staff, parents, and alumni in promoting the school’s Catholic identity. The president assumes responsibility for the school’s external and internal operations, including sound financial management. The President will represent the school in the community and lead institutional advancement activities. The President, along with the Board, is responsible for the future and long-range outlook and development of the school.  

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Practicing Roman Catholic
    • Advanced degree in education or business 
    • Demonstrated successful experience in budgeting, fund-raising, and development
    • Experience in Catholic education
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Minimum 5-7 years of leadership experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations with relevant corporate experience welcomed

 

Accountability:  Accountable to the Bishop, Superintendent of Schools, and the Board of Directors
