Regina Coeli School – Preschool Aide – Alliance, OH

Regina Coeli School in Alliance, OH, is seeking a Preschool Aide. The Preschool Aide works under the supervision of a lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. They assist in implementing lesson plans that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in accordance with Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) and state licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Support: Assist in delivering activities related to letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. Work with children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain an orderly environment and support positive behavior strategies. Assist with student transitions between activities.
  • Safety & Supervision: Provide direct supervision of children at all times in the classroom, on the playground, and during field trips to ensure a 100% safe environment.
  • Maintenance: Assist in preparing instructional materials (e.g., laminating, setting up learning stations) and performing light cleaning to sanitize equipment and play areas.
  • Documentation: Assist the lead teacher in tracking attendance, observing student progress, and maintaining records for state compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Certification: Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Educational Aide Permit.
  • Background Check: Must pass a BCI and FBI criminal background check as required by Ohio Revised Code.
  • Health: Provide a current physical exam and proof of required vaccinations (e.g., Tdap, MMR).

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Credentials: Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is highly preferred.
  • Training: Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Communicable Disease Prevention.

Physical Demands

  • Comfortable kneeling, bending, squatting, and sitting on the floor or child-sized furniture for extended periods.
  • Capability to stay within arm’s reach of children at all times.
