Resources to Support Your Parish Transitions

“To all the beloved of God in [the Diocese of Youngstown], called to be holy. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” -Rom 1:7

As we approach official appointments effective July 1, 2025, and other parish transitions, here are some resources and friendly reminders to help smooth the process and keep people connected with our Eucharistic community:

  • BOOKMARK ONLINE DIRECTORY: https://doy.org/diocesan-directory/ The printable version is available there, and will be revised in July. The online version is always updated first.
  • UPDATE PARISH WEBSITE: Here is a one-page checklist to conduct your own parish website audit.
    • Bishop Bonnar has asked all parishes to make it a priority to update your website in a timely manner! If you change the front page of your bulletin, please make it a habit to update your website at the same time.
  • JOB POSTINGS: Please review parish openings on DOY.org/jobs and reply if you have positions to add or remove. Some are from last summer, but might still be relevant?
    • Our career pages received over 3,600 visits in the past month! We can also post new listings on LinkedIn.
  • MASS TIME UPDATES: Email communications@youngstowndiocese.org with revised Mass, Adoration or Confession times with the date that changes go into effect: DOY.org/mass-finder
    • Our Mass finder & location pages received ~7,000 visits in the past month! We expect that number to spike in early July. Reach the people who are actively seeking to attend Mass in our area.
  • PERSONAL DIRECTORY LISTING: For clergy & DPAs whose new assignment covers multiple parishes, please email your preferred mailing address & phone number or submit a directory update form.
    • We will schedule official bishop assignments to publish online on the effective date. You are also welcome to submit any unofficial information, such as retired clergy contact information, pastor emeritus status, or community appointments (ex: chaplain of local emergency services or lay organization).
