Catholic Leadership Institute Update

Letters of suitability are to be sent from one bishop/superior to another. An electronic form is now available online for diocesan priests to request a letter of suitability from Bishop Bonnar.
New Ritual Book – Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharistic Mystery Outside of Mass
Deacons, Diocesan Pastoral Associates, and Lay Leaders of Prayer should familiarize themselves with the new “The Order of Distributing Holy Communion Outside of Mass” with implementation of the new service no later than December 1, 2024.

Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commission (FDLC) National Meeting
The 2024 National Meeting of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions (FDLC) will be October 1-3 in downtown Pittsburgh. Special study day on October 2 is open to all; virtual options available.
Chrism Mass
Parishioners from across the Diocese representing the parishes, missions and schools in the six county Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will demonstrate the unity of the diocesan Church as they gather at the Cathedral of Saint Columba in Youngstown for the Mass of Holy Chrism on Holy Tuesday, the last Tuesday before Easter.
Priest Retirement and Ordination Anniversary Celebration
The Priest Retirement and Ordination Anniversary Celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The evening will begin with Solemn Evening Prayer followed by Social Time and Dinner. Invitations will be sent to all priests in April. Those attending are asked to make their reservation by contacting Geri Deane (ext. 329) or gdeane@youngstowndiocese.org.
