SUMMARY:
The Villa Maria Worship Coordinator is a vibrant, faith-filled individual who will coordinate, prepare, plan, and execute Eucharistic Liturgies and sacramental services for the Villa Maria Community Center in Villa Maria, PA, on a part time basis. This person will coordinate rehearsals and orientations as needed with priests, members, musicians, and cantors.
Essential Responsibilities:
A. To lead, plan and coordinate all liturgical and prayer life experiences of the VMCC.
• Identify and develop in cooperation with Sisters and priests and other participants a schedule for
Eucharistic liturgy, Communion Services (if needed) and other sacramental services.
• Assist in the planning of funeral services and celebration of life of a sister.
• Provide assistance for jubilee celebrations and Community celebrations.
• Coordinate with the musicians for music planning, assist with finding homilists/reflectors, write
intercessions, and make arrangements for ministers, and oversee other details for each event as
needed.
• Provide appropriate communications with all at the Villa in a timely manner, e.g., schedules of
Liturgy and prayer, and the presiders, lectors, worship aides, sign-up sheets, etc.
• Provides liturgy schedules to Villa Maria Commons.
• Collaborate with Sisters Services, Activities Coordinator, VMESC and Sisters to plan for liturgical
and prayer worship.
B. To identify and prepare all volunteer ministers for Liturgy and Prayer services.
• Coordinate leaders of Communion services, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, gift bearers, cross bearers, etc.
• Provide opportunities for volunteers to help with planning special liturgies and liturgical environment for all seasons.
• Cultivate, train, and maintain active volunteers from the apartment residents and neighboring Sisters to participate in liturgies and other services.
• Coordinate the decoration of the chapel for liturgical seasons. (Invite sisters and apartment residents and staff to assist with decorating.)
• Order Christmas and Easter flowers.
C. To administer and manage the functions of the Worship/Liturgical Services
• Coordinates the musician schedule.
• Orders Breaking Bread books and music.
• Supervises the use of headphones in the chapel.
• Manage copyright licenses and assure appropriate use for all music including weekly updates to One License.
• Assure congregational musical instruments, microphones, and chapel acoustics are maintained in proper and working order. Communicate to Leadership Team representative when the equipment needs repair.
• Oversee the functions of sacristans and assure their preparation for celebrations.
• Submit orders for Chapel supplies (candles, incense, hosts, batteries, and others.) Orders Chapel flowers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the Essential Responsibilities satisfactorily.
• Available to work flexible hours as needed, especially weekends (20-24 hours/week)
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and inspire others and be a strong team member.
• Provide direction with excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.
• Proven creativity skills and ability to coordinate worship and prayer opportunities.
• Practicing Christian; a thorough working knowledge of Catholic worship services.
• Understand and appreciate the history and charism of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.
• Computer literate with Word and other necessary programs.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Liturgy, Theology, or other relevant degree preferred or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
