Proceeds for the event will help to fight hunger in Portage and Stark Counties

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Catholic Charities Serving Portage and Stark Counties invites the community to attend its annual Social Hour with the Bishop on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the beautiful Gervasi Vineyards in Canton, Ohio.
This festive evening will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music by local favorite JD Eicher, as well as a 50/50 raffle and themed basket raffles. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to spend time with The Most Reverend David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown, while supporting the life-changing work of Catholic Charities in the community.
More than ever before, families in Portage and Stark Counties are struggling to put food on the table. Rising grocery costs and stagnant wages have left many parents forced to make painful choices between paying bills and feeding their children. Last year alone, Catholic Charities distributed over 114,000 pounds of food and assisted 12,500 individuals—yet the demand continues to grow.
“Every gift made through this event is a direct expression of God’s love and compassion,” said Rick Squier. “The need is urgent, and together we can ensure that no child, senior, or family in our community goes hungry this holiday season.”
Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance. Space is limited, and early reservations are encouraged.
